Shipping
In order to maximise the returns on items you collect, please note the following guidelines:
- We will accept all laser toner cartridges, inkjet cartridges, mobile phones, drum units, fuser units and surplus/unused items as listed on our current published price list. The types of product and values can vary slightly on a month-to-month basis.
- There will be a charge for a failed collection (please see front of price list). This allows us to continue to provide a free delivery/collection service.
- We would like you to note the following cartridges in particular we are unable to accept:
- All Lexmark and Xerox compatibles of Hewlett Packard and Canon cartridges.
- Most printer fusers (except those listed), ribbons, Drums, photocopier bottles, transfer belts and bottles or tanks.
- We do not pay for remanufactured cartridges containing aftermarket casing or new build cartridges.
- IMPORTANT, we cannot currently recycle toner bottles, photocopier bottles, tanks, tubes and ribbon cartridges. If we receive these items, we will have to deduct/charge 50p each for their safe disposal.
- If in doubt please refer to current price list or call 01234 391889 for advice.
- Many of our competitors have introduced a collection charge for every collection and many more will follow suit. EmptyCartridge Recycling Ltd has no intentions at present to introduce collection charges.
- We will endeavour to issue payment within 21 to 30 days of collection date. Payment will be made once you accrue a balance of £30.
- All laser / inkjet / mobile phones cartridges received are subject to examination. Please note that we do not just visually inspect inkjet cartridges, we are one of the only companies that uses a ST200 shop tester. This enables us to give you a true evaluation as to whether your cartridge is working or non-working. Most companies only visually inspect, if this is the case your cartridge may be seen to be faulty and classed as a reject when it is actually electrically sound.
- On the day of collection please ensure that you or someone who is informed is able to oversee the consignment being collected.
- If we advise that a courier will be collecting your consignment you will be able to choose the day that they come. Labels will be provided for your boxes by the driver to enable us to identify your goods. This service is provided free of charge.
-
Inkjet cartridges or mobile phones need to be kept separate within your consignment to reduce damage or contamination. They will need to be in a seperate box from the laserjet cartridges and then placed into your method of storing them.
Methods of Shipping:
Collection Boxes
EmptyCartridge Recycling Ltd encourages you to re-use old boxes as this is more environmentally friendly. Empty laser cartridges should be placed in the plastic bag that the new cartridge was stored in and carefully placed in a larger box. This will help to minimise damage whilst in transit. Inkjet cartridges and mobile phones (with the battery) need to be proteced and packed tightly when placed in the box as these items are particularly delicate. Any unused/surplus items can be placed in the box. Please ensure these items are left in there original packaging as the prices we pay are reflected in the condition of the product. Please see pricelist for details. Your box must be sealed securely with strong 'box sealing' tape when ready for collection and your account number needs to be written clearly on the box. When your collection reaches a minimum of 30 laser/toner cartridges of value, login and request a free collection.
Courier Bags
Our new courier bags are a great way to store your items. The bags are provided free of charge upon request. A minimum of 10 laserjet cartridges are required per bag and we can collect once you have reached the minimum of 20 lasers ( 2 bags). Please remove all internal packaging from the original box before placing the cartridge back in along with 2 or 3 more cartridges. The boxes can then be stacked in the courier bag. The bag must be sealed using the tie wrap provided. Any unused/surplus items can be placed in the bag. Please ensure these items are left in there original packaging as the prices we pay are reflected in the condition of the product. Please see pricelist for details. Please do not include toner bottles, ribbons, mobile phone chargers or damaged items in the bag. The battery must be included with any old mobile phone. Mobile phones and inkjet cartridges need to be placed in a seperate box within the bag and packed in protective packaging as these are delicate items. All courier collections are free of charge.
Bundles
Alternatively you can place 2 or 3 cartridges in the original box (minus the internal packaging) and when you have done that, place them together in bundles as shown. You must have a minimum of 30 items of value for us to collect any bundles.

Freepost Bags
When using our freepost bags a minimum of 3 items are required (inkjet cartridges or mobile phones). These can be provided free of charge upon request. If you are a school or charity click on the button above to see how they can help you raise funds. A maximum of 50 items are permitted per cosignment to use the freepost bags. If your quantities are higher then you will be required to have a courier collect the items with them being ready for transit in a box. All courier collections are free of charge.
If you have only have empty ink jet cartridges / mobile phones for recycling, we have an alternative collection program for these items. This scheme does not involve the collection of laserjet cartridges. Please make us aware if this is the case and we will put you on to that specific scheme.
Pallet Collection
If you have a higher quantity of cartridges which totals 60 cartridges of value or more, then we can easily collect your cartridges on pallets, which help reduce your cost of waste disposal and help you meet your Duty of Care requirements.
Cartridges should ideally be stacked on the pallets two per original box and then the whole pallet shrink-wrapped to avoid any damage to the cartridges in transit. Any unused/surplus items can be placed on the pallet. Please ensure these items are left in there original packaging as the prices we pay are reflected in the condition of the product. Please see pricelist for details. For ease of identification, could we please ask you to label your pallet with your address and contact details.
Roll Cages

Certain users of laser and inkjet cartridges may have a much higher turn over of cartridges than others. If the quantity of cartridges you have for recycling is 100 items of value or more then we can easily collect your cartridges using roller cages. A minimum of 200 items of value or more is required if you are an authorised collector. This will help reduce your cost of waste disposal and help you meet your Duty of Care requirements. The roll cages are supplied free of charge and will be replaced upon each collection.
Cartridges (without the box) should ideally be stacked in the cages then close the bottom door, pull the middle shelf down then fill the top half. Any unused/surplus items can be placed in the cage. Please ensure these items are left in there original packaging as the prices we pay are reflected in the condition of the product. Please see pricelist for details. For ease of identification, could we please ask you to label your cage with your address and contact details. Cages are not suitable for courier zones.
All our vehicles are equipped with tail lifts, and are licensed waste carriers, which will also conform to your Duty of Care requirements.
If you would like to deliver a consignment to our warehouse please phone 01234 391889 to arrange an appointment.
