The Cartridge Recycling Scheme

As part of its program to ensure compliance with existing and proposed Environmental legislation, Empty Cartridge Ltd has developed a system to safely collect empty laser toner from addresses throughout the UK.

EmptyCartridge Ltd encourages you to re-use old boxes as you prepare your packages for collection.

Inkjet cartridges or mobile phones need to be kept separate due to damage or contamination then placed in a separate box with acc no or name ready for collection when sending lasers back.

Empty laser cartridges should be placed in the plastic bag that the new cartridge was stored in and carefully placed in a larger box. Alternately you can place 2 or 3 cartridges in the original box (minus the packaging) and when you done that, place them together in bundles as shown

When your collection reaches a minimum of 30 laser/toner cartridges of value, login and request a free collection. However the minimum value does not apply when using our freepost address. (5 inks or 2 mobiles is required)

In general we only purchase originally manufactured cartridges. There is no value for refilled cartridges, compatible cartridges or Epson cartridges (unless otherwise listed). Broken cartridges have no value so please ensure that your items are packed carefully prior to collection.

If you have only have empty ink jet cartridges  / mobile phones for recycling, EmptyCartridge Ltd has an alternative collection program for these items - the Freepost System. This offers a simple and convenient way of recycling your ink jet cartridges / mobiles, rather than having to fill a large box.

Pallet Collection

Certain users of laser and inkjet cartridges may have a higher turn over of cartridges than others.

If the quantity of cartridges you have for recycling is of a high demand and/or totals 65 cartridges, then we can easily collect your cartridges on pallets, which help reduce your cost of waste disposal and help you meet your Duty of Care requirements.

Cartridges should ideally be stacked on the pallets two per original box and then the whole pallet shrink-wrapped to avoid any damage to the cartridges in transit. For ease of identification, could we please ask you to label your pallet with your address and contact details?

All our vehicles are equipped with tail lifts, and are licensed waste carriers, which will also conform to your Duty of Care requirements.

The types of product we accept and the prices we pay can vary on a monthly basis without notice. However, this document is reviewed regularly and the most current version with our latest prices can be downloaded and or printed from our web site. The price paid is the prevailing price on the day we receive your cartridges unless prior arrangements have been made.
